Level 15 and haven't met Gladwin Moon at all yet... why?
I have been all over the maps and located all floo locations, have all the combats that my level allows, but have not encountered Gladwin Moon yet, so it appears that I am not going anywhere else in this game until I do.

I have looked up his known locations online but still can't find him.

Apparently he might appear at night - how do you set the game to night?

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Did you receive an owl from him? The quest only becomes available once you do, which, in turn, requires you to complete the first Trial.

To wait for night when it's daytime, go to your map and press F (default key).

Thanks for the info on waiting for night.

I've been playing the game for a long time, don't remember getting an owl from him, although I got an owl from someone. What is the {spoiler thing} that you mentioned - I feel I must have done it a long time ago, but anyway I will check what I can (hopefully I can see my old owls).

Going offline until tomorrow...

It's possible to level without progressing the story.

Some content opens only when the student gets access to abilities or has advanced the main plot to a certain point.

Try moving the main story forward a bit.

**I have not yet received an owl from the caretaker.**

I'm now at level 16. Advancing the main story does look like the way forward, which I'm finding difficult. The main quest is currently "Find the book's missing Pages", which involves visiting the Jackdaw's nest, which in turn requires learning the disarming charm, which in turn requires learning the remaining part of Professor Hecate's assignment which is repeatedly successfully avoiding enemy attacks by dodge rolling.

I'm starting to make good progress here now. At least I know what needs to be done, many thanks for the help.

You meet him in one of the first missions during your first day at Hogwarts. He is on the path to Hogsmead. If you haven't done that...you are not going to meet him until you finish it.

Unless you used mods, you don't even get your own wand until your first trip to Hogsmead.
It's the most likely that you haven't progressed far enough in the main quest. Keep doing the main quest, and you'll get the quest from Moon. It's a crucial feature of the game, it's impossible for you to miss it.

Understood... I'm having my second go at the Jackdaws quest, now I'm at level 18. The first time got me to the final stages but I was just not good enough at combat/potions to quite complete it. About to try to complete the final stage again.
