Is this how the game should look on Ultra?

Hey everyone,

I've finished the game over a year ago on Xbox and decided, since I finally got a beast PC, to try it out on PC with everything on Ultra of course.

I quickly realized that Raytracing is pretty poor, causing only issues so I turned that off - okay. But even tho I have everything on Ultra (and capable PC - FPS are not the issue) game just look like ... well ... screenshots below.

Especially lightning is bad I guess, some models as well. All in all, it feels like a game from few years ago. I don't remember it being this bad on my Xbox, did they change something in the last year?

Does anyone have the same experience or am I doing something wrong? No mods.

Yep, without raytracing the lighting is quite flat.
Raytracing helps a bit, but not worth the 50% performance degradation.
If you're using HDR might want to check the white balance settings, to prevent those blown out white colors from the windows

Glad the OP asked this question. Thanks for that information. My video card, RX 5700 XT, does not support ray tracing and so the game will look like crap I guess. Easier to hold off on purchasing the game now.

You don't need ray tracing mates. If you ask me I think it's highly overrated anyway. Just use ReShade if you want to improve the lighting and textures. It's does a better job then ray tracing ever could.

You could try looking up some mods on nexusmods.com, they offer a lot of visual fidelity, specially Ultra+ though I am not too sure how much it'll work on a Radeon GPU.
