Is this game like watching a movie? I played a little bit of it and just didn't like watching the story that much. I don't really like to play games where I'm watching a movie so to speak.

Nah. Most of the game are mini games, hidden treasures, fight and flying around. Its just a normal RPG. Main story is little more like a movie but its still RPG.

The intro is a bit on rails, but you are free to roam afterwards.

First 5 hours were pretty linear and boring to me. Before you learn Expelliarmus, you got outside the castle, where you encounter some spiders, wolves and first goblin camp. The battle is satisfying and at this point I started enjoying the game.
