No more definitive edition? should I buy this version now?
So I was waiting to grab the definitive edition but it seems it has been cancelled?

Is this true if it is then there is no point in waiting anymore right?

IF the rumors are true then, yeah: Right.
Pretty much yeah. I'd also been holding off on another playthrough for the definitive edition, but seems like WB is really doubling down on this whole "we wanna be literally the worst video game company" direction they've decided on.

so it's only a rumor? not an official statement? rumors are often false especially in gaming

Yeah it's a rumor, but it's a credible one. You could hold out hope, because there IS a chance, but I personally would not do so. WB games have spent the last couple of years proving that they truly will pick the worst possible option every single time and they've doubled down on that in the last few months. It's also worth mentioning that there has been many rumors coming out from WB in the last couple of years and every single one of them turned out to be accurate.

Quite the opposite. Cancelling the dlc is the real good move here, 20-30€ for one dlc, that doesn't even bring a lot of content is way too overpriced. And that's why they cancelled it, which is at least a way to tell us that they don't take us for a bunch of wallet with legs, as companies like bandai clearly do.

they could have priced it at 10-15. no one says 20-30. But I guess in that case the content was too shallow and they have a reputation to uphold. I don't know, I am guessing here. I was also holding out on a second playthrough for this reason alone, but now I will wait another month and then play it again.

The article i've read about the cancellation is quite clear about the fact the studio wanted to sell the dlc for 20-30, which is the reason warner decided to cancel it, because they didn't think the price would be worth the amount of content.

And they were right, better cancel it than alienating part of the potential buyers of HL 2.
If we're lucky whatever they got done will just get rolled into the planned sequel instead.

so basically... "we in the studio want to get 20-30 dollar"

warner bros: "So we already payed you your wages and now you ask for such a high amount of our customers? Nah man, lets just cancel this and not earn ANYTHING. We could dictate another price, but lets rather not and throw the done content into the trash bin"

... instead of wasting what has been done they could have given it for like... 10€ or so. Instead warner bros lost money by even hiring the studio for the definitive Edition. I mean I didn't have high hopes, it were the same people that created Kill the Justice league... so maybe the reason it was canceled was that the Studio had just... no talent and was about to ruin everything... :-P

Why are you even waiting bro?

If you have already played this game then yah it makes sense but don't let some edition of game hold you back from experiencing such beautiful game
the game is mid at best and the first hour is just shoving the divers characters down your throat

Not wrong, if this wasn't a "Harry Potter" game, it would have gotten mostly negative reviews.
