you have enough slots to fit all damaging spells, but if you're talking about perks I like to use the cursed one that explode everybody, I've also heard cabbage build is OP

You want one spell of each color in a group, and you rotate to the next group as needed.

Usually you get a bonus from doing a combo involving a yellow or purple spell followed by a red spell. For example, Levioso -> Expelliarmus against other spellcasters, or Levioso -> Confringo or Bombarda against spiders, or Levioso -> Diffindo for Dugbogs. Casting Levioso after doesn't work nearly as well.

Glacius -> Diffindo and Accio -> Incendio (or Levioso -> Accio -> Incendio) or are the other two really effective combinations, along with using any of the green / unforgivable curses.
