I have read in a few places that this problem is caused by disproportionate power usage in Intel 13th/14th processors. Another reason for this is Hogwarts' UE5 (Unreal Engine 5) engine. Many of these UE5 engine games may cause problems for 13th/14th generation processors. I haven't found any solution yet. :(
This never happened when I played before.
We're getting a lot of vague info that doesn't help track down the issue.
The "numbers folder" is literally a string of random numbers, not the word NUMBERS.
That one has all your save games located inside it. Copy all those .sav files to desktop.
Then delete the %appdata%/local/hogwarts legacy folder.
Now run a steam file repair on the game, this will ensure you don't have ANY 3rd party files/mods or old code or .ini edits or anything else that could be causing the game to crash.
Start the game to the main menu, don't freak out because all your characters are gone, close the game. Now it will have created a new %appdata% folder. Take ONLY YOUR SAVED GAMES and put them back in the local/hogwarts legacy/saved/save games/numbers/
Now enjoy the game not crashing, if it's still not working then it's probably not game file related and you have something else going on inside Windows.
