Steam, we need an upgrade to Deluxe
We desperately need to be able to purchase an update to the Deluxe version of the game, especially when someone offered you the Standard version that you can't upgrade.

According to their FAQ[www.hogwartslegacy.com], you can purchase it while in-game.
Q: Can players make in-game purchases in Hogwarts Legacy?
A: Players with the Hogwarts Legacy Standard Edition can purchase the Dark Arts Pack in-game separately, which is otherwise available exclusively in the Deluxe Edition. There are no other items for purchase in the game.

Is this something Steam does, or is it something the developer has to enable?

Steam can do that and does for other games, but the developpers has to ask Steam for implementing it :)

Steam offers this feature to the publishers, but it is 100% up to the publisher to use it. So this would be on Warner Bros. Games to add.

Hey --- so from that other thread that just got locked, how many of your posts did the admins invalidly mark as spam and delete? Obviously the mods lean toward only allowing hate speech/dogwhistles comments to stay.

My first ever. disappointing, to say the least.

Yeah. I guess being "on topic" of hating on the trans community was okay, but when it went toward defending LGBTQIA that was too "off topic."

smdh. Right? *heavy sigh* C'est la vie. I give up. Not going to "fight" over it here any more.

Nope, the problem here is not accessing the Dark Arts pack, but accessing the game 3 days earlier, a thing you'll never be able to do because your Standard game won't even launch 3 days earlier.

This is why you read what you are purchasing before you purchase it.

It is insane to me that someone can write up a post and read all the comments that it accrues but for some reason can not take a few minutes to read through a packages contents before making a purchase . . . smh.

Except the OP in question didn't purchase the game. He/She was gifted it and wants to make sure they can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition.

Well, then all I can say is wish that you had a more observative gifter, but be thankful you got it for free so be patient it is only 3 days.

You could always refund the game now and then buy the deluxe version instead, its only like 76 or smth with tax, not sure if you can do that with a gifted game though...
