The game looks amazing, it looks fun and I'm probably going to enjoy it. But after that whole showcase with the 'Dark Arts Battle Arena' I'm not feeling as excited anymore.
They could have easily left the battle arena alone as part of the base game but no.
The game ain't even OUT YET and they already have DLC content??

You're a bit late on this one. It was already listed as part of the Deluxe and Collectors Edition of the game months ago and was also announced to be optional DLC for those who bought the Standard Editions.

All the more reason to not buy the game for a year since most of us who are not with Sony have to wait for year just to get one quest unlocked. I'll buy the strategy guide when it comes out in March or April I forget which but not the game.

No, it's a separate battle arena. They mentioned in the livestream yesterday that there are others in the world included in the base game.

The unforgivable curses are absolutely in the base game, they explictly state this in that video, and there are other arenas, this is explictly stated as well

I should've worded it differently, my bad. I know the curses and other arenas are part of the base game. The point was that the DA Arena specifically with whatever unique mechanics it might have is content gated behind a paywall for a game that hasn't been released yet.

The good news is the that the PS exclusive stuff runs out in a year, but there is no guarantee they will patch it to us, though.
