Not an Harry Potter fan: will I enjoy the game?
Hi,

so I read 5 out of the 7 HP books back when I was a teenager, I watched the 7 movies some years ago, but to be honest I never became a fan of the Harry Potter world... I would define the whole lore and franchise "Okay-ish" to me.

That said, is the game a great game even if one's not a fan? I'm down to play a game if it's good, so I guess I need someone objective enough to tell me if it's good regardless of being part of the HP franchise.

Thank you :)

Its a very good game its not particularly connected to harrys story so wont need to watch the movies or read the books to play the game it takes before any of the stuff that happens before harrys time you’ll maybe find some easter eggs and lore that events that happen in harrys time

it depends the main appeal is definitally that u get to walk around at hogwarts and explore the game if ur not a major fan id say is down to ur prefrence id say its a great first entry to a new game from a studio that hasent made such big games before but puzzles and collectibles are very repetative like find 120 trials that has almost the same princible off what u gotta do to solve it with some needing diffrent spells

It just centers around your character and their adventures long story short what your are asking no one can answer because it depends on you so youll just have to buy it and see if you like it never go off of othe peoples opinions on the game

Fun is subjective to the individual experiencing it

also note ur charachter will blurt out hints to puzzles like "maybe that spell will help" and such so if ur looking to solve puzzles on ur own its not really the type off game to give that freedom as far as i remember if u play on easy mode the game will also let u skip some parts off the game like broom flight challenges where u need a specific time to win if u fail 3 times on easy mode the game gives the option to auto win same with other small challenges

Hi there, I read the books and watch the movies, love them but not really a fan either, so I understand and know only tiny bit of the lore. However in this game everything is easy to understand and explain it well enough, even for dummy like myself could catch up and understood it well. :P

I got the game way back in Feb 2023, but doesn't have time to play it and just start playing it again this week, right now I just spent 12 hrs. straight playing Hogwarts Legacy. :D

It a joyful experience to explore the world of witch and wizard, personally I like the Hogwarts ambiance so far, it like you in high school all over again (assume you way older here), students walking around, chatting and doing silly things. Combat is easy and fun, it casual friendly for me. Overall I say It is a good game, it have that charm and magic just like the movies and books.

Game is not that expensive, it is very worth it, you should try it out :)

I'd say my interest in the HP franchise is around the same as yours. Read the books, enjoyable but nothing special, enjoyed the films more but still not the best lore or world building, too random and flaky for me. I've always despised the Harry Potter character himself.

I've played 2 or 3 hours today and got to say I'm really enjoying it a lot more than expected. Not that I've come across any spectacular new game play mechanics or interface or anything. There is nothing you won't have seen before. But was immediately pulled in by the story and the world building, really liking the characters and performances and have to admit it is far more immersive than other major releases I've played over the last few years. Absolutely recommend it at such a steep discount.

not being a fan is the best way to play because then you wont be constantly nitpicking all the things they got wrong

real im a harry potter fan, its the reason why someone gifted me this game, and the entire time i was like "That contradicts the lore of the book series!" "how did the azkaban guards not investigate the school after seeing a record of dark magic nearby there, blah blah blah"

same iam constantly going "that didnt happen that way" or "thats not how that works"

the game isnt perfect but it does the job well enough and its the only open world HP game that i know of

the ability to fully explore hogwarts and hogsmeade for only 20$ was too good for me to pass up

I'm not a HP fan, read one book and decided it wasn't for me, never saw any of the movies.

Enjoyed the game anyway.
