Unable to cast Petrificus Totalus?

Can you guys cast Petrificus Totalus whenever and wherever you want to? Somehow nothing happened when I try to cast it by pressing F, even if it is in a quest requiring doing so? >_<

Besides, it seems that one is not able to fix this by changing the spell layouts because I found no Petrificus Totalus in PC Control Options - Spells and Actions??

It's a passive ability. Basically it just gives you a sneak attack by pressing F near unaware enemies. It one-shots most enemies, leaving you able to sneak around clearing enemy caps without fighting if you are sneaky about it. You do not cast it like a spell, and cannot place it in your skill bars.

You have to be cloaked then sneak up behind an enemy. At that point an option will pop up to press F to cast Petrificus Totalus.

Cast Disillusionment spell to enter sneak mod, Then go behind Enemy and you get option to cast Petrificus Totalus.

it's not a spell you can just cast, it's a 'stealth kill' type deal, you can only do it as a sneak attack

bruh, you can only cast petrificus totalus when you're doing stealth attacks while you're using the cloaking spell.

Just a note since some people have it wrong: Petrificus Totalus can be used even outside stealth. However, it can only be used in combat while all enemies are crowd controlled so they are unable to move. Freezing, stunning, etc all work. You can test this yourself by freezing a single enemy, then walk up to it and hit F.

While you can use Petrifcus Totalus without Stealth, its better to use the cloaking spell you learn from Sebastion. You learn the Petrificus Totalus spell later on from Professer Fig. If you decide to use a talent point on it,you can petrify multiple enemies at once.
