Game Glitch 2024
I have never had this happen, but all of a sudden my character has fallen into the game abyss. Like under the ground, it traps me and I have to hard shut down the game. I am on PC and its outside the castle on the left side in the gardens next the front gate. Its really bizarre

The downside when the game makes the player mesh clip or clip through mesh. If the auto save kicks in. The auto save file is good as bricked. Sometimes the bricked save will not allow the start menu to function either because, of a mid fall locked animation, or a frame of animation blocking key functions from working. Even, if you reload a game with the out of bound players. There's usually no way to get back in bounds. Since, the game logic thinks the character s in bounds creating a logic issue.

Unlike when your between a chest and a wall which the game would warp you. For some reason the game cant warp characters back in bounds for some reason.

That's why i always assume there is manual save somewhere way before this happen.

Personally because, I go glitch hunting sometimes in games. I always save before, and after I do any missions. Thankfully hogwarts legacy does allow many saves per character. Makes you wonder how many people save often vs how many people save when there about to quit.

That could be a interesting pool to get an idea of which players run into bugs the most .

I always save before i quit and i always exit though normal method (never Alt+F4), and most of the time i might save 2-3 times on same position just in case one of them fails to load at some point. (i'm paranoid) Depending on game i also save before i do something (like attack on strategy game)

Better to be save happy then regret losing hours of progress. Right? Cause, you never know if a save might fail, the power goes out corrupting the save. Well with battles if you can save before a boss I think your in the clear. Kinda stinks in some areas you can't save at all. But, the levels are fast enough to breeze through if your high enough level.

I never liked auto saves in games. Since, they can end up soft locking the save if it over rides the actual game save which devs need to stop doing -.- Kinda, wish auto save was optional and not forced.

True, always better to be save than sorry.

I don't really mind auto saving, most of the time its useful, what i would hope for is not to reduce it just one, have several that game then rewrite overtime. For what i can find, there should be option in this games menu where auto save can be turn off.

Maybe if the game .ini file is found you can edit the auto save=true to false. Then save the file since, its just a text file. That way auto saves can be turned off. Since, the game never says the auto save is its own save and doesn't effect the main save. To many users I could see that worrying them especially if they think there auto save replaced there latest manual save.

I'll never understand why devs think auto save is a good thing. When, it's more of a hindrance when, checkpoints exist for a reason.

I guess it makes games easier and gives at least some form of hope that player doesn't need to worry not to lose as much progress like in early 2000 when auto save did not exist, only checkpoint and manual/saving in certain places like bonfire in dark souls. Or like original mafia that have only checkpoint.
