Depending what are you trying to install, most of them just require to drop files in correct folder.
select Hogwards as your game.
Browse the mods.
Select the one you like and follow instructions.
What mod are you trying to install?

Mods 974, 1442, 253 and 125 requires Blueprint Apparate Modloader (or BPAML) in order to work. https://www.nexusmods.com/hogwartslegacy/mods/56
Rest of the mods should work just fine as long you install only one of them, like no broom boost (mod 224), you can only choose one of the files.
After reading we comments. Toggle HUD and Outlines mod ( mod 127) and Character editor (mod 974) don't work together and causes game to break. I don't see any mention that it have been fix.
18th century Ball Gowns (mod 1252) outfits don't appear automatically, you need to earn them either from quest, collectibles or found as a random drop.
Sheath Gryffindor Sword (mod 304) same thing, it replaces quest reward.
The Goblet Overhaul (mod 702) remember just to use one, also it seems its unupdated and might not work probably, i could be wrong on this one.
DragonOgryff (mod 449) At least sound broken since everyone game is crashing. Again, i could be wrong.
also thinking for goblet overhaul, i will either use balanced + vivarium or unlock everything (pls help i cant choose- ok maybe the first one idk)
i like hippogriffs so idk for suuuure if i want the dragon mod because it gets rid of all hippogriffs, reskinning them as dragons (i love dragons but i love the hippogriffs so much so im on the fence)
ive heard of BPAML but idk anything abt how to set it up
Outfits:
The Dark smithing attire (Gothic dress) is a random drop, or can be brought at Gladrags Wizardwear.
The Hogwarts regalia ensemble (Pompadour's gown) is a reward for collecting 25 field guide pages.
The Bubotuber harvesting attire (Spring dress) is a reward for finishing the quest "Spot Removal" (from Sacharissa Tugwood)
Dragon mod only reskin your hippogriff mounts or thestral, not the thestals or hipporiffs in wild.
I'm a wrong person to help to choose whats the best mod for overhaul, i don't use mods in this game.
you set up Blueprint Apparate Modloader jusr like any other mod (place files mods folder)
After that (i guess while in game) press F8 to open mod menu and then select which mod you wish to load.
my gryff girl is currently wearing the hogwarts regalia robe as a part of her outfit actually xD i do hope that the mod that reskins that said regalia robe into a ball gown wont cause issues! fingers crossed :D
also Sacharissa Tugwood is underated tbh- eloise midgen (from the hp books) could use that anti-acne bobotuber cream or whatever it was that Sacharissa Tugwood was trying to make, lol
