Isn't the sequel supposed to be a live service game? That's what I heard, after the huge success of Suicide Squad.

In the return to hogwarts, september 2023 - and I don't have the link, they said they've already started work on HL2. Then two or so months ago (?) there was a tweet or interview sharing they were making the leap to Unreal Engine 5 so it will take some extra time.

Now, that being said, if the information was accurate, who knows what Warner Bro's will do between now and if it is every continued.

I watched all the release stuff for this game. Dev after dev talked hours about the creation of the game, we even got a tour of the Hogwarts "studio" which concerned me a lot. The studio was hardly decorated, and looks like a quick rental to staff the team to create and dip.

All the talks I heard there was continuous mentions over and over again, this was all we were gonna get for the game, period. Seems like the studio's last major release, but that's just me.

I read the other day that HL2 - or whatever it ends up being called - is indeed supposed to be a live service game. I absolutely hate the idea. I want it like it is. Self-contained, no endless return rewards and money grabbers. I understand that everybody these days wants a continuous revenue stream, everything is a subscription or a live service, absolutely annoying at a time where all the prices rise, but my salary never does.

so, I will NOT be buying the sequel if it turns out to be this way. They have a mobile game, Hogwarts Mystery and that is a live service game. I have played it for years, I'm in the 7th year, soon to do the NEWTs but I do NOT want this for my computer game. no way, sir.

and btw, I also don't want a romance story. especially if it's a mandatory part of the game. don't want a multiplayer game either. that would only call trolls (not the HP kind) who'd ruin my enjoyment of the game. I want to play when I want, for how long I want, and on my own.

With the amount of money they made with the first game they're not going to pass up making a second game. It will be interesting what they decide with the story as there is very little left to explore inside Hogwarts and it's neighboring village and hamlets. The story will have to be good to have people come back or they have to at least promise Quidditch as well as having a school simulator where you wander from class to class doing lessons.

- Need to rework spells, spamming Avada is too much.
- Better ennemies than know more than 2 moves.
- Smaller map and better side quests (no need for big empty boring map).
- Optional 1st person view for immersion
- Better optimization (lags, stutters)
- Coop to play Story with a friend
- Arenas and Quidditch for PvE or PvP

Am ok with mkts or subscriptions if it's worth and not P2W.

u cant exactly SPAM avada, its got a big cooldown
tho u can get around that with focus potions and talent points
i like big maps but i would indeed like more side quests

I finished the game today, and I never thought I'd say this, but the game is actually perfect for live service.

The only live service game I stuck with all these years is Destiny 2 (but I'm burned out currently). I stay away from other online games, because I don't want to invest so much time.
But I'd love to invest more time in this one.

They could make the sequel just like this. It would play like a singleplayer game first, but after you beat it you get weekly content rotation to unlock new stuff.
Just add more of everything and make it bigger. You could have large dungeons playable in co-op, you could have co-op PvE and PvP arenas. Broom racing, and quidditch obviously.
They could add challenging difficulties to repeatable activities for some cool loot. Better gear would actually be useful, and you could have wands with different modifiers.
They could also have real seasons, which are already in the game, with holiday events and stuff.

They could make an amazing game if they did it right. All they'd need to do is build on what's already there and make it bigger and better.
I'd definitely play it, and I think a lot of people would.

I heard that it was, but that they were going for the "live service" model next, which is where I hop off the Hogwarts Express. I'm not buying some "live service" bullcrap.
