I have been trying to play all day long.

Every time I try to press continue on my game play it does not let me. I can do anything but start the game.
I was able to create a new character and start a new game but when I go back and try to play my first character it will still not let me play it.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I would really appreciate the help.

Sounds to me as a corupted save file, something is being loaded by the save that is no longer pressent in the game and as result halts the loading. Issues like this often happens when you have modded the game and then removed the mod

I dont have any mods on my computer which is what makes me even more confused as to why it is doing that.
I also uninstalled it and downloaded again and it still does the same thing

Check Steam and see if there is any issue reported with your Cloud saves ( had that happen with other titles). Also, depending on the time gap between your first character and now, that save may be from an older version of the game that may be causing issues. You may need to do the totally new character experience.

Try verifying the integrity of game files. Steam has that option for repairing your game in case of missing or corrupt files. You can activate it by right clicking your steam game, going to properties, and then finding the option under installed files.

A lot of times this fixes problems. The whole process should only take a couple of minutes. No need to reinstall anything.
