Thoughts about the live service to come

Figured I'd make this post so anyone else feeling as I do can also add their 2 cents. I'm not making this maliciously, I'm honestly puzzled.

Suicide Squad, crappy live service game... fails.

Hogwarts Legacy, best selling game of the year... and tbh I loved it despite some things.

Hogwarts Legacy 2.. now a live service game to make up for the failed live service game because it's the future you know?

WHAT?!

First off, we're already being charged 60-70 dollars, but no that's not good enough. You should continue to pay for your game after you buy it, and then what? Oh live service games are expensive to maintain, lets add a monthly sub for the ever MORE premium parts. Hell why not charge us a dollar or 10 to log in before we start paying for the services for a game we already bought.

Just saying this here and now, unless they correct course or make the live service aspect a very optional part that doesn't make the game incomplete without it. I will not give up another dime. I want a single player escape from reality, not another bill to pay. The ONLY thing I could feasibly see as a good excuse for service would be if they added a MP quidditch league where people would probably actually want to buy custom skins or whatever. Anything else though? No... and I don't even want what I mentioned either. Stop trying to milk us for every cent we have. I need food. I can stop buying games. I own so many already, don't convince me that it's enough.

Well people always wanted a multiplayer game. (or in this case MMO) This is the result.

That would be cool as a separate game I think. I mean they're whining about money while putting out a best seller, and neglecting to even try a DLC that people would snap up with a quickness if it's good. Catering to only MP leaves a huge single player hole that won't be filled. For what? So they can make some content empty cash grab that continues to grab cash after you buy it. Why would anyone want it? I guess it's also fair to add that I'm an older gamer (42) and consider single player games essential. There's ways they could do it that wouldn't alienate people or make them seem so tone deaf. If this year proved anything it's that there's a very healthy market for single player rpgs. Instead of being happy with a success and improving upon it, they're changing it into something else entirely to make up for a MP game that "failed". I also don't like what is considered failure, oh no I only made multiple millions in profit... how horrible.

also i thought hl2's not confirmed, so how does krugg know it's conna be live service?
personally id like it to be a bit more like the og hl... just my opinion :)

Online is so cool... for 6 months until everyone moves on to the next game and then any boss fights that need a quorum of players can't be done since you can't find enough (competent) players.

It haven't been official confirmed but its been said to be under development.

It haven't been official confirmed but its been said to be under development.

well, i do hope it's interesting, as much as hl1 or even better!
id like more house-specific things, options for careers after hogwarts, and maybe dragon mounts (that you would probably have to fight to tame, like with the lord of the shore graphorn), perhaps the dragon mounts could include that heredian black dragon from horntail hall...
also i wanna breed different species of dragons and create hybrids hehe

Probably not going to happen if the game follows the lore.

"Dragon breeding was outlawed by the Warlocks' Convention of 1709, due not only to the fact that that dragons could not be tamed (receiving the highest British Ministry of Magic danger classification of XXXXX), but because wizards with pet dragons would be easily detected by Muggles."

There has been no announcement that HL2 will be live service or that there will even be an HL2. People are jumping to conclusions.

Well I'm sure there will be one, you don't sell 22 billion copies and not make a sequel... but it's not been announced and people are already complaining it's not what they want because of some offhand comment by a WB higher up which has been blown way out of proportion in the first place.
