The game won't start

It just says launching and then stops running. Any ideas? I tried validating and reinstalling. All my other steam games are working.

I have Windows 11 with all the latest updates and a 3090 with the latest Nvidia drivers.

***FIXED! Here is the solution that helped me. Try it guys.

"C:\ProgramData\Hogwarts Legacy and find the four files located inside that folder. Those are the shader files the game creates. Delete all four and relaunch the game, it will rebuild those files."

Won't start for me either since I updated my AMD drivers I think maybe we both should roll back our drivers.

I am on Nvidia though. I doubt the game broke for both companies. Are you on Windows 11 with all the updates? I can't believe this is happening in 2023. I actually bought the game a year ago and it ran fine but wanted to wait for a price drop and stability improvements. Now I buy it a year later and this.

I don't get why it's just us it seems. There are like 9k in game now...

You are able to load into the game? What are you specs and updates/drivers on?

Guys this worked for me if you are having the shaders issue.

"C:\ProgramData\Hogwarts Legacy and find the four files located inside that folder. Those are the shader files the game creates. Delete all four and relaunch the game, it will rebuild those files."

Played through it twice last year, but now it won't start for me either. It's a HL problem, not anything wrong with your PC. I'm running a 4070 Ti that runs everything on ultra (Baldur's Gate, Pandora) but HL won't even start.

Doesn't work for everyone I'm afraid.

Fresh new install, deleted all my previous config folders, etc. and still no go. :/

In my case anivirus blocked some files. I made exeption for thees files and now i can play 😁

Cool that u got an answer, but just think a few seconds. We bought the game, we shouldn't be doing all this stuff to get the game playable, otherwise i'd go to Elamigos. But Im here, I purchased on sales offer, Now i cannot play it due to the MOD update, what a blame. I hate this!

If you run a VPN, shut it down first. That worked for me.
