Only 40% off?
It was 50% off a month ago on Steam, and 60% off on third-party sites. So who came up the brilliant idea to offer a worse discount when the game is even older now?

Edit: Ended up buying it on another website at 65% off. Good way to lose sales on Steam I guess.

it was 50% off on winter sale, it's 40% on this sale, if you wanted it for 50% you should've bought it then and if you wanted it for 60% then go buy on third party site

The logic may be that we are now assured and much closer to the exclusive Playstation mission being added to the game for everyone else to enjoy. You might think of it as baking in a DLC charge.

The Big Spring Sale is in March- you could wait for that to see if it is offered again at 50% off.

Mate theres games like TBOI thats from an indie dev that almost never goes on sale, tho that game is amazing but its to say even if a game is old dosent mean big discounts will happen, also pretty sure steam has rules on discounts and when they can put games on discount,

If u wanted it for 50 or 60% then u should off jumped on it some games only has 50-60% off once a year usally during BIG sales this isent a major sale usally the biggest sales happen towards christmas

save your money and dont even buy it yet until the fix the game crashes that dont let you even play the game mine crashes before i even get to the main menu

The logic behind it is that now it's a regular sale. Steam has a spring and wintersale where it offers better discounts than during other sales. (ofcourse the age and popularity of the games do also matter for how much discount is offered)

agree with this one. ranting about how much they got discounted is not relevant. take it or leave it.

In what world are sales required to be progressively greater? Do you think the average consumer even researches that stuff?

None of it is relevant to whether or not it's worth it to you at whatever price it currently is.

Stop trying to save pennies and maybe get yourself in a position where 10$ doesn't break you emotionally.

Way too expensive for a game with platform-exclusive content and Denuvo anyway

to be honest, in 2023 this game sold 22 million copies, with around 2 million units sold during the December holiday season. if you say it is too expensive its look like you are not the target market for this game. so better move on.

And I'm the wrong target audience for your argumentum ad populum fallacy

It doesn't matter, the game is amazing and well worth the full price of admission.

Do you want to get the game? Do you want it discounted? Beggars cannot be choosers. Get the ♥♥♥♥ over yourself.

too expensive, i'd pay 10 maybe 15 bucks but no more, also denuvo is a red flag nono, i'll wait till spring sales maybe they will reconsider the price.
drtekrox Feb 4, 2024 @ 11:27pm
It's FOMO.

Take a decent percentage off first, then slowly decrease the discount, people will buy as they don't want to get caught out paying the higher price.
