BG3 hasn't been on the market the whole year though. That's the problem with "of the year" sales records, they are meaningless. The question is, in 6 months from now will BG3 have sold more than HL has today? That would be more accurate. Or you could compare the first 3 months of sales from HL to BG3's total sales.

Unlikely. Larian hasn't announced sales numbers since announcing 2.5 million sold during all of their early access period, which lasted almost three years. This game sold 12 million in two weeks.

personally i say at least 10 million sell on steam

but 20 million, if they really reach this number larian and valve going to announce it, because it mean bg3 would be the first game to reach 20 million sell on steam

That is incorrect. None of those sites like steamdb, steamcharts, and steamspy have accurate sales numbers for Steam because those aren't publicly available in any way. Several of them say that Elden Ring has sold more copies on Steam alone than Bandai has officially stated the game has sold total.

They all use slightly different algorithms based off of historical data for old games from years ago when it was possible to scrape game ownership data from every account on steam, concurrent player counts, and the number of reviews a game has. They are in no way accurate.

To blame is really social media, pushing it in our faces making it look like the WOKE audience is huge, when in fact it's a very tiny part of society. Which in turn is why the creations lose so much money and get such hate. The vast majority are not interested in that nonsense.
