Players voted for it. Like me, even i don't own steam deck, i can still vote for it.
That makes sense, so valve doesn’t put any restrictions on voting. Such as needing to own the game or have a set amount of hours, before you can submit to the polls.
I voted for it because I wanted this game to win an award in something.
The woke cancel culture have screwed the developers of this game big time, they did not get nominated for anything in the Game Awards.
The Steam award is a popularity/troll contest anyway, so don't take it serious.
Starfield won innovation for using a 12 year old engine.
red dead redemption 2 got labour of love when there has hardly been any updates.
This game uses 10 year old engine.
Also starfield uses Creation Engine 2 that was release 3 years ago, unlike original Creation engine.
If we go by your logic and use original release date instead, then Hogwarts legacy is using over 30 year old engine. Its amazing how good it looks with engine that come out 1991.
I have played this on the deck for a short time last week. I know there is a custom performance profile loaded for the game and the game just runs smooth on 30 Fps. I dont know which perf levels the game is running (have to check) but when i saw the detail it looked more than low. i think the game is running on medium+ settings if i have to gamble on it.
But yeah it has a performance profile for it.
This award best game on deck, i agree its one of the better verified tittles on the Deck for 2023
I agree, game runs fine on the Deck no issues so far.
This was one of the titles that I wanted to buy when I first got my deck. However, I watched my friend try to play it on his. It clipped quite often. Watching YouTube videos on the deck gameplay, also confirmed it. However if you guys say it runs fine, I’ll give it a shot. Worst case I just get a refund.
It is a good game though.
One tip i could give u is run the game on the native storage SSD of the deck. If you cannot (bc you have a 64GB one) Run it on a proper SD card and not a cheap one. I see allot of ppl having frame lag bc the SD card cannot keep up with the disk reads.
Howkay buddy, game runs fine if you just run it in normal settings and not on steroids Nvidia 40xx levels. do you even have an Deck to begin with?
