Gear space is scarce, so keep hold of only a single piece of each type of clothing item ... Prioritise keeping the items with the highest stats and get rid of EVERYTHING else as any of the different visual cosmetics that you discover stay in your visual list and can always be transmoged (applied) to your currently worn outfit, even if you destroy / sell it.
Essentially, loot 'unlocks new looks and doesn't require you to actually keep the items ... 'If you don't like the way an item looks, but want to apply it's stat buffs, you can equip it and transmog it to a different unlocked visual, or even just have it appear invisible ... Lots of glasses and hat combos that make you look ridiculous.
I know I have been keeping my character to Ravenclaw specific outfits on this playthrough. It is annoying to have to go in and revert each clothing item back to that outfit just because I installed a more powerful "actual" piece of gear. Not a deal breker but it would be nice QOL feature if I could just apply my Ravenclaw outfit after any gear changes.
