Buy now wait for next sales?
Soon there will be autumn sales and a bit later winter sales on Steam. Do you think the game will be even cheaper?

You will definitely get it for maybe -70% ... in a few years.

Given the last drop was the same as the current discount I doubt it'll be any cheaper in the winter sale this year, but only Warner Bros know what their plans are.

The question is are you happy to pay the current price? If you are buy it, if not wait and see.

Yeah it looks like the current 30% "sale" is only genuine in 4 countries out of 40. (See: https://steamdb.info/app/990080/) In all other countries the discount is less than 30%. In half of them it's less than 10%. In other words the price was INCREASED by 20% (or more) in those countries just before the 30% "discount" was applied. In some countries (like Switzerland) the price after the 30% "discount" is actually HIGHER than it was before. What a SCAM!

I grabbed it right before the sale... I'm having fun with the game though, so its all good.

It is worth it if you are a fan, ie both books and films.

I've been wondering the same thing. Especially with everyone talking about performance issues. A lot of games do become cheaper, the question is how patient do you want to be?

Not necessarily, I've never seen or read the books, I'm enjoying it tho.

I like the game, but not sure I'd personally recommend it to non fans.

This isn't my preferred genre of game, but I am having fun. If I wasn't into the Harry Potter world, I'd prob have lasted 20 minutes.

A lot will depend on your expectations for the game. It is very good and feels very true to the books/movies. I can only play it on low settings but it looks fine enough for me.

It sort of feels like a mix between Mass Effect and Batman Arkham. Lots of cut scenes and dialog like Mass Effect and the combat sort of reminds me Batman. It is different and no melee combat but the way the combat is presented feels very similar.

If you want something real fast paced with lots of action, you might not enjoy it very much. I think it helps if you are a fan of the series already.

I just bought it and it was definitely worth it for me. Hard to say if it will get cheaper. The best bet for that might be Spring 2024 when developers are trying to pick up sales and players in game for the slower summer period.

It is worth it at the current price IMO.

The price it's at no, the game is super repetitive, mainly the same stuff and way too many awful side quests, ending was dull too and to this day it's a mess, no fixes unless you use mods, leaving the people to clean up there mess
I played it on my friend's PS5 and stopped a little ways after Sebastian's questline, Honestly, by far, that was the most engaging part of the game for me. If you've sunk enough hours into any recent Ubisoft game, doing 10 things 10,000 times... then this is yet another generic open world game with a Harry Potter paint job. But, admittedly, the devs did pour a ton of work on crafting the castle and the first few hours can truly be magical. After that, it all feels so empty and hollow. There is this beautiful world with seemingly a lot of life and it sure feels like there's a lot happening there, but you're locked out of it all. Hardly so different from Cyberpunk 2077 minus the disastrous, buggy launch and an actually engaging main story,

Even for an HP experience, it's not very good and lightyears away from authentic. You don't get to really make any friends (in a series whose central theme is love and companionship), the halls don't have enough NPCs to feel crowded, there aren't enough classroom sessions, your House and common rooms are pointless, you don't have big social events, there aren't enough things in the environment that have unique reactions to various spells, you can't really get up to any mischief, you can cast unforgivable curses in front of dozens of people and they're like whatever, you can solo a ton of dark wizards while being a student... you're already insanely more OP than all the wizarding prodigies combined.

Feels a lot like a Hogwarts theme park.
