Currently, the developers seem focused on getting the remaining console releases done. And since they are a small team, that may mean no patches for the PC version until that task is done. I strongly doubt that they have "abandoned" the PC version, but they seem to have other priorities for now.
Welcome to pre-internet gaming. Well, as close as you'll get. I, for one, love it.
The credits list is indeed very long, but if you actually look at the details, you'll notice that the vast majority of those people are not part of the core development team (which is what's relevant in the context of the question about patches). You'll see lots of names that were voice actors for various roles in various languages, or who are just working in an executive role for any of the third-party studios involved (and who may not have had any actual input on their work for Hogwarts Legacy at all). If you believe that e.g. 200 voice actors from the credits list have an impact on whether or not the game gets another patch, then I'm curious about your line of thought there. ;)
The core team (i.e. the people who would be working on future patches) is Avalanche Software. Depending on the source you look at, that studio employs between 40 and 140 people. Neither is a big number for a game of this scope. Note also that I said "relatively" small. Obviously, for an indie title, those figures would be very large. For a triple-A studio, they aren't. "From Software" has 349 employees, for example - and even that is not considered large.
Judging from the comments of some people there has never been a video game in the history of video games that has not been abandoned.

And no, I didn't count them by hand so there is no user error there.
I don't care about the size of the team. I spent full price money on a game that I can't play. My schedule doesn't allow me to beat a game in 1 week like others suggested that we should have done. I just wanna get my money's worth. I already left a negative review and recommend others do the same as well until they fix it.
I still think that Avalanche is inexperienced with games of that scope, based on their track record, and blowing the team's size up in a short time may bring its own set of problems. But you're right, the numbers on mobygames are definitely higher than the ones reported on business sites.
That's absolutely justified. If you got the impression that I was saying "hey, let's go easy on those devs, they are inexperienced with games of that scope", then you completely misread my post, I never said any such thing. Explaining why they might be overwhelmed with the current situation, does not mean defending them against valid criticism, those are two different things.
As I said in other threads, the fact that a patch that demonstrably introduced crashes for many players and broke raytracing for everyone has been left without a hotfix for 2 weeks and counting, is really embarrassing for the devs and for WB. But the question of this thread was "have they abandoned the game" (which I don't think is the case, I expect them to return to it after the console releases are addressed), not "are the devs doing a good job addressing the bugs" (which I don't think they do).
