TIPS: Zoom out on the maps. If you hover away from any regions, it'll give you a complete count of what you have or haven't collected. There are three maps in total so make sure you're checking all three.

Before you leave a dungeon, check a guide online to make sure you've grabbed any chests. These aren't missable, but it'll save you a trip later.

Don't forget your Loom. If trolls are annoying for you to fight, try adding the ancient magic damage traits to your gear. These traits are easy to attain by upgrading gear and you can one shot trolls pretty easy after you've stacked them on all your pieces.

You can play this game one handed. If you're struggling with combat, take a breath and try it. Just watch your head and hit dodge if you see red and protego if you see orange.

The stealth talent tree is underrated. I wish I had maxed it first. Conflagro talent is also a must. Plants are OP, that tree is also great. Don't get enticed by the dark arts tree. I skipped it entirely.

For that matter, the Dark Arts spells aren't counted for the achievement to get all spells.

Maxima potion is very strong. I used it a lot and the potion ingredients are plentiful. It also makes your attacks vibrant and bright. It's pretty awesome on the last boss.

FAQs/Bugs

1) All three map categories say you've collected all chests, but you're still missing some conjurations.

There is a bug. Or what I consider a gameplay oversight. The butterfly puzzles that reward conjuration chests do not count on the total on the map. There are 15 butterfly puzzles in total that you will need to collect if you want 100% achievements.

Fly to the locations on the map on your broomstick and use revelio. You should see a butterfly icon when you get near.

2) All the enemy camps say you've collected the chests, but you're missing a trait.

There are two main antagonists in this game. The final boss and the other one. When you fight the other one, there will be a chest with the trait nearby. You can return after this fight to collect it, but as far as I could tell this chest was not recognized until after the fight.

3) I can't find all the field guide pages for my book.

Use a checklist, unfortunately. These are in static locations so with a checklist and some diligence, you can find them.

The flying and blank pages you pick up completing puzzles don't appear to actually count at all. I have a lot of missing field pages from ignoring them and I still got the 100% collection achievement.

4) Where's the best place to farm for the Combat challenges?

The arenas are both great. The one in Feldcroft is the one I used to finish off Trolls and Mongrels. The 2nd wave has 7 mongrels. There are more in other waves as well. There are 4 trolls in the complete set as well.

5) What's the best way to get Finishing Touches achievement?

While you're playing just maintain a list of what you've hit with the ancient magic finishing moves. The achievement does not count just the thrown items.

When you get ready to really focus on the achievement, just pull up a checklist and find the ones you haven't written down.

The arenas are very fast and repeatable. There are 5 waves and at the end of the last wave it just asks if you want to repeat it. I did that to get from level 39 to 40. However, if you're underleveled for the main quest and you're going for 100% achievements, you should do sidequests and collections for levels since you'll be doing that anyways instead of grinding.

how do i find all the side quests? couldnt find it on the map. Only reveals when i get close enough.

When flags on Hogwarts become black, it means that there are side quest(s) available near the flag.
You can track the side quest on the map.
Side quests in Hogsmeade are labeled as icons. Don't forget to scoll your map to find northern region of Hogsmeade.
Most of other side quests are village based.

There are a few quests are not near a village, I *guess* you have to fly on the broom and cast Revelio to find them.

Btw; Flying pages counts towards completion. I got 100% revelio pages in"challenges", but not om map. Picking up flyers gets you there. Finding them though is freaking impossible. Found one yesterday in a room i revelioed the hell out of several times before. Almost like they appear randomly.

Sucks i have to start a new game too get all achievements (besides the rooms). At level 40 its impossible to get 100 combo. ~20 combo and the trolls melt.

No, its the boss fight before the last one. Right after you get the new wand.

Unfortunately, the only way is to begin maintaining a list yourself and when you're ready to actually focus on it check online. Compare the list you've been maintaining to the list online and pick off anything you missed.

I missed some stone dugbogs on mine.

There aren't any missable monsters so I wouldn't stress out too much about it. Aracumantula is in one of the Arenas too so you can knock that one out in the arena.

Yea, like the other user said... the map will have a black flag on it if there's a quest or part of a quest on it. One of the map zoom options will show new quest markers as well.

The trouble is that if you have a quest in the World Map it'll show black. So you can't tell if it's because there's a quest out in the world to pick up or if it's the quest you're on. So I liked to keep my main quests for last and when they were all in Hogwarts or Hogsmeade I'd check the world map to see if it was black flagged.

Oh, and just for anyone curious, the potion traders near floo flames aren't sidequests for this achievement. They do not count.

The map doesn't count for 100% completion. The 100% completion achievement only counts what's in your character menu Collection section. The flying pages do not count. My map count is not complete and I have it. Hogsmeade, for example shows I'm missing field guide pages.

You have to hit it with expluso from near the very bottom repeatedly. Your character moves forward with each cast so you have to quickly correct your position every 3-4 casts. But, you can get it up that ramp if you just keep casting expuslo and correcting position.

I didn't want to spoil it, but no I don't mean Ranrock. I mean Rookwood after the Olivander scene near the end of the game. The chest is in the camp you fight him at, but it's a huge camp so I don't think many people are running around after the fight.

I have 100% in character menu, but missing a few collectables (some appearances and one or two for the Room) for achievement.
Pretty daft of the game to have several different 100% goals.
Like i got 100% in all challenges, but still missing several pages. Stupid af.
