Ancient Magic Throw count for Finishing Touches?

I've read that it does, but I noticed that when defeating an enemy with ancient magic popped up as a dueling challenge, it did not count.

You need to use it on every enemy type.

Yes, I get that. What I'm asking is does just the throw count toward the achievement because it didn't count for the popup dueling challenge.

Throw does not count, it is specifically the Ancient Magic "finisher" attacks
They don't need to kill the target though, you need only use it on an enemy

I didn't even start keeping track until Winter and it wasn't too bad. Bosses don't count. Only things that respawn.

There's one caveat to that which is Arcomantulas which you need to use ancient magic on but are boss enemies.
