Only femelle unicorn ?

I've been going at different times to the only unicorn den I could find, and it's ALWAYS a femelle. Am I being unlucky or missing something ?

My 9th unicorn was male and shiny. It just takes a while. Luckily the unicorns are quick to spawn. Just teleport to Upper Hogsfield, wait once on the map and fly back into the woods.

Falling off a cliff and loading from last checkpoint will retrigger the spawn. So, try to trigger a quick save near the unicorn den and then find the nearest cliff. Jump off the cliff and reload until you get the desired gender. And, if you haven't noticed it'll tell you the gender next to the name before you go to capture.

Hmm tried that, but magical big invisible pillow stopped me from dying...

About unicorns:
It's random. You got to visit the den few times. What I did to solve the problem was: capture it so it doesn't come back.

So after 3rd male or female unicorn, I got one of the opposite gender.

Of course, animals aren't trans in this game, so you can't breed two animals of same sex.

I wasn't serious.

Never tried that. Although, one time, I was kinda falling and I activated the broom to save me from dying.
