Just lost 4 hours of progress

Game won’t let me manually save and won’t auto save either. I can go do achievements, they show as completed but when I exit to main menu and go back in I am right back to my old quest with no progress saved.

I’ve finished the main storyline and am trying to get 100% completed. Game was working brilliantly until today. After my last Summoners Court 4 match (I lost), the game crashed and then after restarting the save problems started.

Anyone else? This might end my play through completely as I doubt I’ll do another character run after spending so much time (140+ hours) on my main.

I'm in the same boat. I cant continue summoners court 4 or abandon it. I'm at 82% complete for the game and I am not starting all over again

Steam usually backs up your saves automatically, but you never had the idea to say after 100 hours "I might do a back up of my saves" `? It tahes LITERALLY 10 seconds, 3 slicks away...

WDYM that the game wont let you save ? Can you not save by tne menu, is it greyed out, what is going on ? This is what you imply when saying it wont let you manually save.

Its so bad, I have tried a few methods that have worked for other people on Reddit, but none worked for me, I am at 93% completion so i'm really pissed. I feel your pain :(. It looks like the only 'answer' which isn't a solution, is to start a fresh game. Don't know if that is an option, this has left me kind of hating the game now. I absolutely love it really, but to lose all that time and progress for a corrupt save file?? This game is basic, it's not a complex game at all, why is it so broken for some people. Everything was fine, I had a brilliant playthrough, until that summoners court match 4.

Dude!! I just fixed it, so go back to the summoners court match area, and move around the podium and your game might go weird and say “leaving quest area screen of doom” and it gives you the option to try again or abandon quest! Abandon quest!! And then it might go black screen. Wait for awhile and then click what you click for your inventory etc. and check if you can save. I just randomly went back to the summoners court area to see if I could reproduce the crash/bug and my screen turned red like it does when you leave a quest area and selected abandon quest and it worked! I can manually save again and auto save.

It must have been stuck in that quest? Despite me flying all over the map yesterday for hours!

No I didn’t, I haven’t routinely done that cause the game has worked so well for me, didn’t think I needed to. Noob error and I am a total noob anyway, but definitely lesson learnt. I have fixed it but not making that mistake again!

After 24 hours of trying to fix this, I can honestly say, you are my favourite person for fixing this!! When I got black screened I was shutting down the game in Steam. Thank you so much!!!

this kept happening just so you know, everytime i went into the hogwarts map it would automatically put me as though i was in the 'summoners court match 4' even if i was just in the RoR and everytime it did that the saves messed up again. So I don't know if you have already beat the match, I was avoiding it because I SUCK SO BAD at it. but eventually I won, cleared the quest off, and the saves have been back to normal. that quest is badly bugged. but at least we know how to fix it!

yeah sadly it seems to be quite a bad problem on all platforms. i'm so happy i got it to work because I was so close to leaving the game for good, didn't fancy a fresh playthrough with one so close to completion.

That sucks so bad!!! Must be so annoying. Did you read my post? Any chance it’s related to the Summoners Court Match 4? It seems to be bugged quite badly and will mess your saved up until you finish the match.

I haven't touch the summoners court after the initial one in the class way way earlier in the game. My bug is around saves post Helm of Urtkot being corrupted.
