Not enough Video Memory error
I've been trying to find a fix to this, every time I start up the game it starts to do shaders then it gives me out of Video Memory error.

Specs:
i9-13900k processor
32g DDR5 RAM
RTX 4070 TI 12g

I was able to play this when it first came out, dropped the game for other things and recently wanted to finish it but I keep getting an error for my video memory.

I recently upgraded my NVME from the 750 WD black to the 850 and the only games that do this is Lies of P (Demo) and Hogwarts Legacy, everything else works fine, closes out just fine and nothing left open in the background.

When I try to run these two games I have everything else closed, nothing else using any GPU memory. I run games at 3440x1440.

Well, for whatever reasons many people with 4070s are reporting problems. (Whether it is the game engine, driver related, or something else seems to be a regular debate.)

FWIW, I have an 11g 1080 Ti, and have never run into this issue. HL plays fine, albeit without ray tracing. Speaking of which, some people have reported that disabling RT may help. Otherwise, what is your swapfile size set to?

No idea, I've been trying everything to fix it to no success. Not sure what the swapfile size is, probably just set to windows deciding the size.

Hi. PC:
13900K stock
2x16 GB DDR5 GSKILL 6800
Rtx 4090 Gigabyte Gaming
Aorus Elite Z790 AX
SSD KINGSTON 2TB
Seasonic 1300W PX ATX 3.0 PCIE 5.
win 11

Each new install of nvidia drivers, and launching Remnant 2 ( the same UE5 engine like Lords OTF ), then on first launch ,during shader compilating it throws OUT OF VIDEO MEMORY and it can BSOD.

Next launches are fine.Just on first launch of the game, during compiling shaders.

The same thing happened on game Lords of The Fallen. And next launches are fine.

But like i said it will bsod again if i install new drivers and launch game for first time.

Also found ,Wheas 19 logger warnings/entries in moment when shader was compiling. Nothing more

Here are entries:

That one WHEA 19:
Corrected Machine Check
Translation Lookaside Buffer Error

And that one: WHEA 19:

Corrected
Internal Parity Error

Also. I tested by Karhu Ram test no errors. Cinebench R23 passing. Games are stable. Prime95 Small FT stable no errors.

is my cpu fine?

Im having the same issue running in a SUPRIM X 4090.
When loading shaders first time you run the game it crashes and says out of video memory

This ought to be a FAQ. There's a bug with recent i9 and some i7 CPUs:

https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/is-your-intel-core-i9-13900k-crashing-in-games-your-motherboard-bios-settings-may-be-to-blame-other-high-end-intel-cpus-also-affected
https://www.radgametools.com/oodleintel.htm

This causes it to mess up uncompressing compressed textures or shaders, which causes Unreal to decide that the error meant the GPU ran out of video memory.

I had the same problem. Not the GPU it is CPU problem. I was using automatic OC settings of MSI for my CPU. I disabled it and the problem is gone. Video or graphic settings visual memory etc none of them were changing anything. It was simply overclock problem.

I've been having the same problem. I have the 4060ti. What worked for me was in steam, go to Steam>Settings>Downloads scroll all the way to the bottom and disabling shader pre-caching. It takes a good 5 mins to render so you're going to have to sit there for a while. Hope this helps.

4090, i9-13900KF, 64GB DDR5, 1,2kW PS, 4 TB SSD, etc... sufficient performance.

That did the trick! Awesome man! Thanks!

Shader compilation took around 60 seconds.

@Steam: Fix those pre-compiled shaders pls.
