So for long distance trips or when you want to avoid combat by flying at high alt, beast mounts can actually be quicker overall, or at least more convenient.
But they also have like medium speed which is faster than Highwings did you know ?;p
Not new, been there since the very beginning. Also you have infinite boost as long you you fly near ground or just above trees.
Man I played the game wrong. I didn't have an issue with the flight speed at any height but didn't know about the boost thing on the ground. Maybe that's why I couldn't beat the 3 course XD.
Hippogriffs do not have a boost which also means no height limit as their speed is just their speed. Good for long distances without having to boost and recharge or having to follow the ground contour.
Me? I just followed the ground contour, but I do see the appeal of just chilling while travelling. I only used the "floo network" when I wanted to get something done quick. Otherwise, I took a broom.
For the races, you get boost bonuses by going through the "bubbles" or whatever those are. You get a short speed increase and refill of the boost meter. The 3rd one lets you miss only one ring and boosting as long as you can if you want to have any chance of beating the top time.
