Engine and engine.ini
Hi,
I'm trying to find the engine.ini folder. I also found the place where it should be, but there is only an engine folder. Is this the same thing, do I have to look elsewhere again or create the folder myself? I wanted to try to fix a mod that doesn't work for me..
please help

To fix a mod, the blueprint Apparate mod. The modloader doesnt Shows up if i press f8 key, and I have tried all the other possibilities yet

engine.ini can't be a folder, that's a file type by itself

Why tho? Changes to engine.ini after the latest updates don't really do anything anymore, you have to downgrade to a previous game version.

FFS I *hate* when people answer a question with BS like "why, what do you want to do"... just answer the dudes question.

Engine.ini is here:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

There is no "engine.ini" folder.

The "Engine" folder (by default) is here:

%PROGRAMFILES(x86)%\Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\

If the above post is accurate and they've put a 'locked engine.ini' in one of the encrypted gamefiles (paks) you will only be able to edit the engine.ini file by compiling your OWN pak file with UE, you'll need to create a <whatever>_P.pak file which 'overwrites' (e.g. the _P) the locked config(s).

It's probably not worth it but GL.

I'm pretty sure that's not true. I'm running the latest version and my changes to Engine.ini still work.

Key bindings aren't stored in the Engine.ini file. You need the Input.ini file, which is in the same folder (as IDKFA said: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor). But the Input.ini file gets over-written every time you play, so keep a backup copy in case your edits get lost (which will happen if you reset key bindings to default in the game, for example).
