High CPU usage and temp when preparing shaders?
I've never had a game use 100% of my cpu and cause it to reach 91c in temperature before. Thankfully its for less than 30 seconds but holy hell.

The CPU does work pretty hard during compilation. Could be time for a heatsink repaste and checking the fans aren't clogged with dust. Also, older Intel CPUs run particularly hot under load, so, depending on the CPU you have, that may be a significant factor. Look up the Thermal Design Power (TDP) for your CPU and compare with a recent CPU. From an overheating perspective a larger TDP means more cooling is required.

Yep, same, and constant crashes. This game is just not optimized for PC

Obviously you're going get 100% usage spikes when compiling shaders. The process will use all resources available. The compiling on Last of Us originally took up to an hour...

My i9 9900k hit 69c during this process so depending on your cpu you might want to look into improving your cooling solution.

It's a cpu bound game. Unless you have access to frame gen which somewhat alleviate the cpu load, then you're not going to have fun time with this game.

Easiest fix is to upgrade your cpu to the latest gen and get a beefier cooler for the cooling.

its a i7-13700k, I just bought an AIO cooler with a tdp of 280w so we'll see if that rectifies the issue.
