I understand hitting the orbs with the spells matching the colour of said orb but whatever I hit the orb with the spell, nothing occurs. Bug?

Yes I've done that (Duh. It's shown in the main mission prior to Dragon fight)

Make sure you're actually hitting the orb? Auto-targeting in this game is a bit janky, I had manually aim the spells into some of the orbs. Use a talented Edurus potion if it's too frantic.

Also the window where he's damagable is only a couple of seconds so follow up quickly.

I've used auto target and manueal targeting. Nothing. Regardless if I'm under the orb, or far away.

You have to up vote (similar to Reddit) for them just to investigate the bug and guarantee you they won't find the bug because they're American.

Updated the game to the latest patch. I can hit the orbs that won't break (purple & yellow) now

I am having this issue with orbs as well. I am stuck on phase 2 against dragon Ranrok. There are 2 orbs. I can break the red one no problem, but the purple orb will not break, despite using every single purple spell mutliple times, auto targeting and using Maxima and Focus potions. I even tried using other coloured spells, but nothing works. I am playing on easy mode. It shouldn't be this hard. Seems like there is still a bug and there isn't any available patch for me to download right now.

Update: I got through phase 2 somehow, but now phase 3 is stuck. I can't destroy the purple or the yellow orb due to the same issue.

To destroy a red orb, the player must cast a red spell like Confringo or Incendio; purple spells like Accio or Depulso can be used to destroy a purple orb, and Levioso or Glacius will destroy a yellow orb.
