Is exploring caves worth it?
I get only random trash from caves, yet there are millions of them on my map. Is there any achievement for doing all caves or can I just ignore them and still make 100% completion?

I don't think there's an achievement specifically for all of the 'caves' (treasure vaults) but there's an achievement for finishing all collections, which include gear appearances, so all of that random junk is actually useful if you're trying to 100% the game.

As far as I remember gear collection counts only "special" appearances that you obtain through quests and by completing challenge logs. The regular "junk" appearances (hundred variations of the same robe, etc) that you get from beating enemies and opening random chests don't count to it.

caves are generally a let down as 9/10 only contain a single chest and 1/10 have a small puzzle before u get there and perhaps a spider or two... none of the chests have actual value and you are better off with rng drops from enemies i would say

Could be, haven't gotten that far yet, I just read the Collector achievement and by completing collections I assumed it meant actually getting the full # shown on the collections menu, which does include junk item appearances if I recall. If not then it's kind of silly imo.
