Henriettas Hippogriff

Apologies if this has already been asked, but has anyone had issues with the hippogriff in henriettas hideaway? for some reason it doesnt want to work for me, and the quest remains incomplete. Thanks in advance for any helpful info

When you do the hippogriff puzzle, it opens up a wall nearby with a chest in it. The quest doesn't complete until you grab the item from the chest, but it's not particularly well signposted — it can be hard to tell what has changed after you solve the puzzle.

thanks, i have tried everything, including every permutation of putting out and lighting the fires around the stupid statue, and that damn wall still doesnt open and i can still see the chest after using revelio....so frustrating. I'm about to head back and try again after i eat, maybe coming back with a fresh perspective will be helpful. again, thanks for the input :)

yes, thank you, i have the appropriate ones lit, the wall is still not opening. im going back to it now, it is possible i dont have the right ones, but after looking it up, im pretty sure i dont have it wrong...again, its possible, but i doubt it. Thanks :)

The note makes the look of the pattern pretty clear, but I'm not sure if it also presents the required _orientation_ of the pattern as clearly. In my game, the Hippogriff actually got removed from its original position, so I had no indication as to the pattern's orientation - so I ended up choosing one orientation randomly, and then rotating the pattern clockwise until I found the correct one. The door in the back opened as soon as I produced the correct pattern in the correct orientation.

I did find it pretty easy to accidentally mess up the pattern because I had upgraded many of my spells to have an area of effect. Incendio and Confringo both repeatedly lit more than just the one brazier I was aiming at. Perhaps that's what happened to you?

thank you everyone, it turns out that i was mistaken about the orientation of the statue, and was basically one off...i adjusted and it worked. so dumb lol

Yeah, I made this mistake too. The diagram is crap.
