SPOILERS... The reason why this game does not draw me back

Because there is literally no change.

I would be okay with no changes if you chose to keep the repository locked away. But if you chose to open it and take the power for yourself and there was even a cutscene where it shows we took in some of that power... then I would have expected some amazing powers in return. A boost to dmg or cooldown or some new cool ability/spell.

But no.

You remain the exact same person. As if nothing happened.

I still have some side-quests left but if finishing the main quest doesnt have any effect on my character, then why even bother? I guess I am disappointed.

My only hope that we will get an expansion for post-main quest consequences and activities.

You never get the power because Ranrok takes it and you have to destroy it alongside him.

That is actually wrong. During the end cutscene we are seen taking in some of the power (and eyes flash red), then containing the rest, presumably for later use. So no, Ranrok did not destroy it. We still take it from him after he loses it at the end due to his defeat.

The magic wasnt destroyed, it just switched owners/hosts.
