NVLDDMKM errors all of a sudden
It seems that after updating to Nvidia drivers 531.26 (531.18 had some sort of CPU issue), I am getting intermittent "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" errors with this game as shown in the event viewer. I am considering rolling back to another driver, but curious if others have been experiencing this? Running a i9-13900K and RTX 4090.

I had the exact same driver crash as well. 12700k + 4080 531.18 driver

I have played a few hours so far and no crashes, with everything still maxed out, but I reverted back to driver 528.49. I think something is really off with the 531 drivers, including the hotfixed one.

I spoke too soon, I encountered a crash this morning. It is so wierd because I had not experienced any crashes whatsoever prior to this most latest patch. Also, something is way off with the ray tracing. Since I already finished the game, I am just going to move on to another.

I started to experience this crashes after recent hotfix - 5800x3d+4090 ... nVidia probably did something wrong ...

Yup... I tried to make this argument in another thread. The 530 releases gave me the same error and made my laptop reboot while idle. Many people are reporting the same issue on Nvidia's forum.

Was your last crashes this morning giving the the same nvlddmkm error? Mine stopped after reverting back to 528.49.

Event ID 0? I started searching this up after I kept crashing on TLOU Pt1. From my Event Viewer:
The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\Video3
Error occurred on GPUID: 2d00

The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table
Check this thread and the thread linked inside
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/515515/nvlddmkm-error-rtx-3080/
So it does seem to be a driver issue. Seems a few people have reported it and Nvidia could replicate the problem but more reports or support tickets could help.

The problem is the graphics card drivers. Go back to version 537.58 and everything will work fine. Nvidia has been releasing faulty drivers for some time now.

Reinstalling the drivers on 537.58 did not help. All the same, the game crashes. I used DDU to remove the old ones

It's an issue with how the game is using the driver, not the driver itself.

I have the same problem (MB Asus ROG Strix X570E, AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 64 GB Ram e Asus RTX 4060 Ti) :(

Did you update to the latest Nvidia driver. A new one was issued 1/24. Apparently Steam updates after you install the new driver.- Just did it.
