you won't see them until you progress the main quest line to the 4th trial, even if you travel to the location (southeastern-most part of the map)
I don't see any point in getting more than 1 graphorn. you would have to be really churning thru gear upgrades, but by the time you get to them you're probably already pretty maxed out / have the best stuff.
It’s important to catch the graphorn each time or it won’t properly reset. What I would do when I was trying to get all shiny was to find the closest floo flame. Catch the beast, travel to the floo, wait til the next day/night, and then hop on my broom and fly down to the den. If you stand on top of the rock right by where it’s sleeping, you can beat it pretty quick without taking damage. Catch it, and start over. Took me probably three hours but I got there eventually.
Same here, and I went for shinies. I have one male and female adult of each species and one male and female offspring of each. Towards the end, I had to bring my Phoenix back into the nab-sack so I could accomplish that. Which really wasn't an issue as the previous comment mentions.
