well the game is set well before any of the hogwarts we know. so it would be with in reason to do an after hogwarts/ continuation story, similar to how mass effect 1,2,3 went with shepards story continuing.
or just throwing another story at us all together.
or even go further back in time. there is a lot of lore to work with.
If you want some data to make an estimation: Hogwarts Legacy was in development for about 6 years. Usually it takes about 3 years to develop games of this scope and quality, but this development studio is still inexperienced when it comes to creating such big games (it barely got Hogwarts Legacy out of the door even though the release date was postponed twice, many planned features were cut, and there are gamebreaking bugs that they still haven't managed to fix). So if the same studio is tasked with a sequel on the same scope, I'd say 4-5 years seems more realistic.
However, Warner may have an interest in releasing a sequel sooner, before the interest in the franchise cools down again. They could try to hire new personnel with more experience. Or they could decide that HL2 doesn't need new gameplay systems, but rather just a new story that re-uses lots of the material from HL1. In that case, they would probably be able to release a sequel in 2 years.
JKR already said Hogwarts always felt the same or similar way in any time. So itd be kind of Pointless to go back just to see same castle. Seeing other schools would bring more.
Install different, more interesting puzzles in the game world.
Incorporate a curfew system that honours lore and makes the day/night cycle more meaningful.
Implement a morality system.
Draft a new main story campaign that is contingent upon or impacted in some way by our choices.
Add new spells, more potions, more plants, more beasts.
Design and incorporate a proper companion system.
Reimagine the gear system.
Just because a game is set in a similar setting doesn't mean it'll be the same game, if handled properly.
