After Patch Driver Warning from the Game be Aware (update to NVIDIA 528.49)

Guys, i'm running previous NVIDIA Drivers 528.24 as new NVIDIA Drivers 531 have issues and they launched a HotFix. So today after the Patch i was about to play and i'm getting this warning:

okay so either update to 528.49 or don't. Anyone on Nvidia with a driver prior to 528.49 is getting this message

yes but the warning is there for a reason and i dont' like it, for that i shared with you guys

seems so and i don't like the warning, nvidia has a hotfix new driver 531.26 but ALL my games run great with the current 528.24 so i think i will wait

I got the same warning and updated the driver now the game will not respond. As soon as it says perparing shaders it stops responding.

i saw the patch warning, so applied nvidia's latest. game crashed every 15 or so minutes, never did before. looked at event log, saw graphics hardware errors. checked geforce settings for the game, all was ultra. started game, went to settings/graphics/benchmark. on finish, i applied recommended settings. game is stable but runs at high rather than ultra and no raytracing. not sure what to do if you can't get to benchmark though

ALL other games has nothing to do with HL and its issues with older drivers. 528.49 was the first with HL support and has a few workarounds specifically for HL.

If everything else runs and only a warning occurs, then do not update the driver. I did and my game had massive graphics problems after the patch.
Before everything ran super.... after this experience I reset the graphics driver and also copied back some files from my personal backup of the game files. Then it ran again as before. Ignore the warning.

Just wait. The game doesn't seem to respond, but i had the same issue. It just takes a while, possibly a few minutes. But you'll only have to do that once, unless you install a different driver later.

Update to 531.26 - works fine for me :)

I have an AM Radeon R9 280 and i also get a warning like that.

it says i have 22.6.1 and i should go to 23.2.1. but that isn't even a thing, 22.6.1 is the latest supported by my graphics card...

also aparently updating produces the same problem: game will not start anymore.

Very annoying - did the driver update after the warning, now for the very first time the game crashes on startup. Nice one WB.

Edit: As Neawoulf said you just have to wait - my bad, still unsure if games should have driver warnings though.
