Ram usage?
Hogwarts uses 11 gig ram, got 32 Gb, Ryzen 7 3700x and a RTX 3070 Ti ( my 2060 broke so i had to buy a new one ). The game runs on a 980 pro samsung m.2.

I can run at 70 fps through the castle turn a corner and go to 5 a 7 fps suddenly, restart the game.

Is my system already that old???

Do you have raytracing on? If so turn it off, it's broken and causes this. I have a 5900x, 32GB and a 3060 Ti and get no fps drops with RT off. With it on I get drops that make the game unplayable like you describe.

yes the game has a ram usage issue will it be fixed who knows
if you open task manager it might say 11gb but that normaly false what you want to do is go to the performance tab at the bottom of that there is a - open resource monitor button click that in there you can click memory tab and see how much its really using for me it might say 8gb but in there will be 16.5gb

Total system usage and the game usage are always different. I've seen the .exe hit 14GB of usage while the total system usage was 22.

my total system usage is 31,9 of 32.

i'll bet if i place more ram it will eat more then? Like if i upgrade to 64 Gb Ram usage will continue to go up by the game?

Are you looking at the amount used or the amount Committed? I see 30-31 committed, but usage is lower.

looks like mine is using
12GB (Active private working set)
2GB (shared working set)
18GB (commit size)

+6GB overhead from chrome and other background stuff

total system usage 20GB out of 32GB
that's at 1440p high, DLSS off, RT off

I don't think 64GB is needed, but 16GB is really not going to be good, especially if you have any system overhead at all

Problem is in GPU 8GB Vram it is not enough just set the textures to high or medium and all will run without drops
I'am also playing on 3700X 32GB but with RX 6800 and for me HL runs very smooth without any major drops or stutter.

thats a Vram bottleneck you're experiencing, for that card turn down the graphics settings to high or medium and use DLSS.

same thing happens to me on my 3080 10GB version. Hogwart's eats RAM for breakfast

Under source controll it uses 19 GB even with ray tracing off.
