Am i an idiot or something?
Im currently level 19 but can't collect enough gold still.

For example, im gonna brew an Invisibility and Thunderbrew potion. To do that, i headed to Potions Classroom but ducking game shows those potions locked and forces me to buy from J.Pippins first.

If im gonna brew a potion, why am i being forced to buy lol?

What am i missing?

Yes. You have to buy the potions first to complete the tasks of the assignment. Then attend the class, where the teacher will teach you how to brew them, then afterwards it will be unlocked for you.

Perhaps you should go explore some more and loot every Gear items you can and then sell them in Hogsmeade. There is no need in this game to keep all those items. Wear the best and sell the rest.

Hmmm. But i had already purchased those two before and use for something else i guess and they appear with 0 use left in my inventory. How could they still be locked then?

There are chests all around Hogsmede and Hogwarts with an eye on it, use the disillusionment spell before approaching it. You'll get 500 gold per chest

You actually earn very little gold in this game, so it's not particularly odd you find yourself lacking it. Even after completing the entire game and having traversed the whole map I wasn't able to buy out all the items.

Flipside is that there's very little reason to. Gold seems to be more or less a convenience above all else. For the quests you should probably seek out the eye chests. If I'm not wrong there are 3 or 4 in Hogsmead alone, while plenty more in Hogwarts.

Make sure to activate the quest, and try buying them again and make sure to use the potions simultaneously.

Indeed the gold gain is so poor.

Really? By the end game I had over 50000, after having bought everything possible.

Just sell all your gear except what you're wearing. The gear chests are everywhere.
