Being able to sell stuff would be kind of nice, sure, but you also get way more money than you need. There's no money sinks after you buy the tables, so it'd be a little pointless.
It's also the bit that the potion makers in the game sell products people use in life-or-death situations. Noone sane would sell student experiments for that purpose. Ingredients should be fair, though, but you also get an endless free supply of them, so...
I own the PS5 version and set up my own shop. The dialogue gives the impression that you WILL be able to sell items such as potions, plants and beast items. However, once you actually open, you can only sell gear at like a 5% markup. Pretty disappointing.
