Is the Bell Tower Puzzle bugged?

I got the collection for finishing the Bridge Puzzle and the Clock Tower Puzzle, but when I put the bells back in their slots for the Bell Tower Puzzle, nothing happened. And it sounds like the two big bells are in the wrong slots, by the tone of them. I can't move the bells around now they're in the slots though.

I plopped the two bells into place and they immeditely started playing the tune.

Quest done.

The bottom bell goes in the nearest spot at the bottom.

The top bell goes in the nearest spot at the top.

Pretty simple.

I did the same thing you did. I put the bells back and was thinking it was bugged. Turns out it's part of a quest you get from one of the students. Once you get the quest it will automatically complete and you can turn it in.

Yeah, I did that early on (maybe 3 or4 hours in) and it was really ugly and hard to do with the simple levitation spell only. Would have been way easier later on.😉

I plopped the two bells into place and they did NOT start playing any tune. They just went into place and sat there. No quest. No challenge completion. Nothing.

And just to check, if I want to play a scale on the bells... it goes:

5671

The two biggest bells are obviously in the wrong slots.... but I don't even remember if those were the ones I inserted since it was so long ago.

Well... 5 days later and I've FINALLY found the Quest to put the bells back in the slots... and they were already in the slots... and the quest is now complete...
And the "Solve Hogwarts Secrets" challenge is still stuck at 2/3.

It didn't get counted.
What now?

I have a similar issue, I misplaced one of the bells and wasn't able to put the other bell in place because I didn't have the vingardium leviosa spell, this happened way before getting the side quest.

Now that I have the quest I can't find the second bell, I watched around everywhere but it seems vanished and don't know how to complete the quest

The Bell quest is not a hogwarts secret. Thats why. I won't spoil what the secrets are but that one is for sure not one of the secrets

Yeah, it turns out I was misled by one of those interactive map things which listed the bells as one of the three secrets. I only found out late yesterday that the third secret was actually that room in the other direction on the way to the headmaster's office.
