mc: funny green spell go zap
That IS interesting. Thanks. Asmittedly, the curses have their time when they're strong, but for me it was before you actually got AK. By that time regular spells were so strong some of them one-shotted enemies, and adava kadevra has so long a cooldown you can only use it every 3-4 battles. It had its occasional use when you could use it to instakill an entire battlefield, though, but that felt more like a hard to setup gimmick than a real use.
The kid wants to save his sister. The uncle wants to MMA you.
The girl cries like a baby the whole time, refusing help.
Then there's you, with dialogue options that are inapproriate in every single situation.
The entire time I was screaming for Obsidian Entertainment to intervene.
I always have a problem with curses. They make no sense. What is the mechanism by which they function? Clearly they must have a power source, a focal point to anchor them, and some matrix to activate the functions of the curse.
In 'the goblet of fire' :
"While curses came in many strengths and forms, they were generally the most wicked, strongest, longest-lasting, and least reversible of the Dark charms. The Unforgivable Curses were the strongest known Dark charms in existence, as their effects were very powerful and their use required skill."
I am afraid that the explanation is 'magic'. The rules are seldom truly explained; and while we take classes, we don't actually get to read the books and gain actual knowledge of how to use spells and such. Partially because it would be boring, and partially because the books, and magic, don't actually exist. At least not in that form.
