i'm scared i missed one in the start of the game

The game has way more than you need in order to max out the book. Don't stress over the trials.

They're all on the map. If you zoom all the way out on the world map, and select a zone, it will tell you where you've missed one.

i've completed them all for achievment merlins beard but it did not unlock.

and there are no more trials on my map.

is there a missable trial?

That is a hogwards legacy map with all the task, treasures and so on. You can click on them what you need and what you don't need and fly around those spots to check, if you have done them.

Not all of them will be shown on the map

If you haven't discovered it, it won't show on the map. As the other individual pointed out, there are more than required to complete the challenge. You only need to find all of them for the steam achievement.

I suggest you with the bottom right part of the map and fly on the broom spamming revelio and looking around. I had one missing and mine was right there. Since there're 95 trials and it's kinda long and boring to check every spot from the interactive map

Is there something that is supposed to happen when you complete the very final Merlins Trial? I had already completed the trials required to expand storage to max, but there are more than is required for that. I think I just completed the last one on my map, but nothing happened beyond the regular completion.... I was very disappointed as I thought there would be some nice cut scene or something...

I guess per other's posts above, I will try zooming in more to see if any are hidden at a deeper map level.

Other than achievements pop up, nothing Else happens.
