Potential Bug. Infamous Foes counter

when you go to the map and scroll all the way out it will tell you all the collectibles and other things that are in that area. for example it will tell me how many Infamous Foes that are in that area and tell me how many i killed. well its bugged, for instance Hogwarts valley there are 4 infamous foes to kill, 1. The White Wolf 2. The Grim 3. Quagmire Troll and 4. Alexandra,s Troll. i looked at my collections and i have all those enemies listed but yet the map says im missing one. and its not just that area its all of them, which makes it harder to keep track of how many i have because i only need 2 more to complete the infamous foes challenge but i cant tell where to go and get the last 2 because the games counter is F-ed up.

If your map says you have all 18 it could be bugged, but be sure to check the locations for Riparian Troll, insatiable Spider, Absconder and Alexandria's troll (I think thats all of them). these are quest related foes. If you have a complete enemies collection you could've encountered them and just not finished them off. Hope that helps somewhat.

I had this bug, the missing one was the inferi in the sweater from a quest. I went back and read all of the journal entries in the area of the fight that had to do with the quest and the story of the brother. Bug was fixed next time I booted up the game.

I think the issue is that the game for some reason counts The White Wolf and The Grim as one Foe. Just confirmed "The Riparian Troll" (part of "Beeting a Curse" side quest) is the 4/4 infamous foe for Hogwarts Valley region. There is also a collectors chest only obtainable during this quest, so clearly those of you claiming "can't get 100% without this foe" aren't actually that close to getting 100% lol

dude I've literally just killed Alexandra's Troll three times in a row just to check and see that the infamous foe counter did not go up. Just because some people missed something doesn't mean others are not experiencing a bug

Same here. I'm on playstation, 69/69 enemies, 18/18 foes, no trophy

The map tells me I've killed 18 of 18 infamous foes, but my enemies encountered are at 66/67 and the infamous foe challenge remains at 11/12.

Comparing my enemies encountered list with a list of Infamous Foes from some random expert website, it's definitely the Quagmire troll that is missing. The other 17 regional infamous foes and the 3 quest infamous foes are all there in my list of foes encountered.

It's quite possible the Enemies Encountered List and Infamous Foes Challenge are waiting on an owl named Errol to bring confirmation...

I have 67/67 enemies. 18/18 on map. Visited all 21 spots 3 times.
Just the challenge that stays at 11/12.

I went back to Alexandra's Troll spot and Bardolph Beaumont's spot. Picked up the pages again (For some reason they respawn) And it gave me the level 40 achievement. But I'm not level 40. I cannot spend the last talent point or complete that last 11/12 challenge.

Fun times!

Nope! I just did a second playthrough and I just started with infamous foes. Doing 2 saves everytime and to check if it counts on the map and collection log. Bardolph the Inferi guy with the red sweater doesn't add up on the map constantly. But so far everything counted on the collection log.... Still no fix indeed.

I did a second (EVIL) playthrough as well and on that character it was no problem, but my first playthrough is still bugged. Can't get that character to lvl 40, because he misses that small bit of XP for completing that challenge...

My map tells me that I got all infamous foes, but the challenge book still says I miss 1. I have backtracked, flew everywhere while using revelio, been into dungeons again where some infamous foes were and nothing to be found.

I had the issue too. Beat the game and trying to find all the infamous foes. Finally found the one I had left. Tempeste Thorne In falbarton castle. Must of missed him when saving high wing.

For OP and anyone with the same Issue, namely that you know you have beat 4 infamous foes in Hogwarts Valley but the counter on the map is only counting 3, and your total enemy count is at 66/67:

You are most likely missing the Riparian Troll , encountered during a side quest given by Samantha Dale at the Hogwarts greenhouses (Beeting a Curse).

This seems weird, though.. Because I thought there's more Infamous foes than it is in the challenge. I just checked my current playthrough and I just started winter, which means I just finished the second trial.

In my challenge, I have 11/12 infamous foes tracked. So I just need 1 more. But in my Highlands map, I have only done 16/18 infamous foes. So I'm technically only have 2 more infamous foes to defeat, while the challenge only requires 1 more. So I always thought that the challenge has 1 infamous foes short than the actual number.

As for me, I have checked every spot where there was or should be an infamous foe, and there is nothing there. It is probably a quest one that I am missing, but since all quests have been done, and those infamous foes are part of the quest, it is just bugged. Somehow one of those foes, didn't count as completed for me.

A couple map-uncounted infamous foes required me to go out of my way during a off-map quest to find them. Got 100% infamous foes during an off-map quest. A bit more story to go (though not too much more). The infamous there could be avoided completely (though should have been visible on the minimap). That foe is not counted on the Highlands map.

There was another quest where I didn't even notice the infamous on the minimap until I went way off the necessary path.

I think locations like that let you return after completing the quest... probably to let players mop up things that were missed?

I gotta figure out where I missed a wand handle. That and a single Hogwarts page is all I'm missing right now. There's a chest somewhere in Hogwarts. Hoping that one is the handle. (They're usually handles or conjurations and I have all conjurations.) I can't think of any locations where I am still not able to go in Hogwarts (excepting other houses and the girls' dorms which do not have collectibles for my student). I even got the 3rd secret which grabbed up all but the final chest and page.
