Refusing the dark arts?

The game was basically introduced with it giving you the freedom to learn the unforgivable curses. Is there a point of no return? or do you have to learn them no matter what, and then if you use them is up to you? I kinda like the Sebastion storyline and want to finish it, but dont know how far along I should go

I completed the entire game, and all but two achievements (due to butterfly bug). You are not forced to learn them at any point, and can complete all storylines and quest lines without learning them, as I did.

Seb has a side mission for you to learn crucio... I used it on him so learned it... maybe if you let him use it on you, you don't learn it?

I guess if you don't want to learn the other 2, don't do the other Seb side missions...

But you can use curses without penalty, fyi

You can choose not to learn the Unforgivable Curses even if you do the related quests

You can refuse to learn all those spells, and it doesn't count for the "all spell" achievement if you don't have them
