For what purpose?

The spell exists in the data. Expecto Patronum and Expecto Patronum Maxima. Along with other data like Episkey, Fomus and Oppugno. So maybe in a future DLC, or if it was removed content. We dont know yet.

oh man an azkaban dlc with dementors and really strong wizards. I would also like to be able to choose or even create my own Patronum :) that could be so cool :D and the patronum is quite a strong defensive spell, so why not learn that when we learn the Unforgivable ones? :D then have dementors flying around on the map here and there when its nighttime :D

Breaking Sebastian out of Azkaban might be a fun DLC, though they'd have to have him arrested first if you chose to spare him. Make it an infinite dungeon sort of thing like in bloodborne, maybe? Or at least have more complex puzzles than the base game.

become a vigilantee and hunt wizards ect. sooo many posibilities :D or become aurors :D

There were Dementors there until an Auror you were with decided to Expecto Patronum the heck out of the Dementors.

yeah you summon a patronus with a expecto patronum spell as far as I remember :p its been years since I read the books and saw the movies.. :D would still love to create my own :D

id guess Episkey was a spell for healing yourself, maybe before they implemented the healing potion, could be useful in any multiplayer.

this spell doesnt seem to exist in the HP lore, so who knows.

Oppugno is a jynx that would animate or motivate things to attack a target.
maybe before they implemented the Cabbages, the imperio, or the throw.
