Game Gets Stuck Near the Beginning... HELP

Please help. I have just started playing and am near the beginning. I am following Professor Fig, have just broken through the "ice", casting a basic spell for the first time, when this comes up, with no instructions, and I cannot make anything happen. I can't click on anything, not even Menu or Settings. Nothing happens except a loop of my? or a character running around in this block but it appears to be a video loop, not actually me and I can't get the game to do anything.

I have this problem, too. (Like the third screenshot, though not the first two.) Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't fix it for me. Anybody got any ideas?

Solved it. For anyone else having trouble with this one: Within the game, you can't just tap the space bar like you can tap keys while in the settings menu. You have to actually hold the key down while the border of the circle showing the space bar symbol fills with white.

Never though that this could be a problem, seems pretty obvious.
