Hogwarts Legacy: A Soulless Cash Grab That Ruined My Day

I need to get something off my chest. I recently played Hogwarts Legacy, and it was so awful that it actually ruined my day. As a diehard fan of the Harry Potter franchise, I was eagerly anticipating this game. But what I got was a hollow, soulless experience that left me feeling angry and disappointed.

First of all, the game doesn't feature any of the beloved characters from the books or movies. That's right - no Harry, no Ron, no Hermione. Instead, you get to create your own character, which might sound cool in theory, but in practice, it just feels empty and pointless. The customization options are limited, and the characters you interact with are forgettable and uninteresting. What's the point of a Harry Potter game without the characters that made the series so great in the first place?

But it's not just the lack of familiar characters that ruined the game for me. The gameplay itself is just plain bad. The spells you can cast are clunky and unresponsive, and the combat is tedious and repetitive. The story is forgettable and predictable, and the game world itself feels empty and lifeless.

To make matters worse, the game is riddled with bugs and glitches. I encountered several game-breaking bugs during my playthrough, which forced me to restart multiple times. It's clear that the developers rushed this game to market without properly testing it.

Thats your opinion and as civilized human being I will respect it. I do have to disagree with you though and while I know that what I say likely wont change your mind, I will say my peace anyways for those that might want to see other perspective here.

I actually did not want a harry potter game with harry potter. I played those back in time and I do not want to replay a story I already watching movies, read books, and played other games of. I like the world of harry potter, as flawed as it is, and to me, the choice to have it in the past was good.

As for characters, I do have to agree that none as memorable as the movie characters because well, movies had 8 movies and books and games to build on them. This does not make Sebastian, Poppy, or Natty bad. They are quite nice characters and the only real disappointment is Amit, with his lack of anything.

The world being empty is an odd statement because I can't really go anywhere without being side tracked by wizards fighting trolls or spiders, by centaurs patrol, whom I may join in a fight, and other small encounters here and there. On top of it there tons of side collectibles and places to explore. I am 40 hours in and I still yet to explore all of it, which is a lot considering most games that release now. Now you be lucky to play something for 10 hours before beating it, here I spent 40 and I am maybe half way through?

The combat is fun, I just do not know what you talking about, there many spell combos and certain spells do unique things on different enemies depending on what enemy is doing.

There are some glitches and lag here and there on pc but it's pretty minor for open world game. Some things could have been done better, like having quidditch or chocolate frogs, or even have your choices matter bit more but game is still pretty great, 9/10 for me.

Well, it's great that you respect my opinion, but it seems like you're only saying that to appear civil. Because if you truly respected my opinion, you wouldn't go on to dismiss everything I said and try to convince me and others that your opinion is the correct one.

Yes, it is my opinion that the game is terrible, and I stand by it. And no, your attempt to change my mind did not work, because I've already experienced the game and made up my own mind about it.

You may not have wanted a Harry Potter game with Harry Potter, but many fans did. And the fact that the game doesn't feature any of the beloved characters is a huge letdown for those fans. As for the characters in the game, sure, they may be nice, but they're forgettable and uninteresting compared to the characters from the books and movies.

As for the world feeling empty, I can only speak from my own experience. Sure, there may be encounters here and there, but overall, the world felt lifeless to me. And the combat, well, we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one.

And finally, the glitches and bugs in the game are not minor. They're game-breaking and unacceptable for a game that was in development for so long.

So, in conclusion, while I appreciate that you have a different opinion, I stand by mine. The game is terrible, and your attempts to convince me otherwise are futile.

If it's 100 years where is Dumbledoor? Movies said he was head master for a thousand years But I quite enjoy the game and I normally do not like single player games because I like playing with other people but the game is entertaining enough have yet to experience these bugs but that is why they are bugs they don't happen to everyone.

Well... book canon isn't clear if the Flamels are the oldest or not. Merlin might be older, if he's still alive (I think the line was "no-one's really sure if he's going to pop up again or not"). This game claims Merlin was at Hogwarts, but if so book canon (and the "real" mythology, which is one of the few myths that have an actual date attached to him, thanks to the dates of the battles of Badon and Camlann) wouldn't allow him to attend as a student... though he could have been there as a teacher, even if he would have been at least five hundred years old at the time.

Been playing double the hours you have and havent encountered one single bug.
Except that i triggered Peeves 2 times and could see him in the hallway and infront of the great hall on my new playthrough.

Perhaps he's confusing with the fact that Hogwarts was founded 1000 years before the time of the Potter stories (990 AD).

Dude. This isn't Harry Potter game lmao. It's a Wizarding World game. Same world, different time period. This is in the 1800s, Harry Potter takes place in the late 1900s.

I'm trying to say this as nicely as possible since If I get banned one more time from a Steam community Steam said they will ban me permanently(which is stupid, last ban I got was for informing someone of my shock that they had been unbanned from the CSGO forum, also got banned from here for calling someone out for having inappropriate desire for this game to include child pornography) So I can't say what I really want to say.
