Flickering hair shadows
Anyone else suffers from the annoying wacky flickering shadows cast by the hair? it only seems to affect my characters. I'm guessing it has to do with the engine, shader, or the hair texture itself.

My game is as stock as it came outta the downlow, with no ini edits nor mods. I'm on driver version 528.49

Several first aid testing and troubleshooting I did but to no avail are:
-tweaking in game AA (there're only two of em)
-trying all four upscale method
-changing resolution in windowed mode (native 1080p)
-testing each graphic option from low to ultra

If anyone has any insight as to what caused it or has a similar problem and managed to find a solution, is greatly appreciated.

the non-ray traced shadows are terrible. But the retraced shadows cause frame drops in certain places that are really annoying. This game is just terribly optimized.

Are you sure this isn't a result of DLSS?

If you are using DLSS, you'd want to aim for above 60+ FPS if using this option, low framerates with DLSS enabled will result in graphical artifacts

I was still having this issue in August 2023, but I think I narrowed down the cause. It seems related to the frame rate limit being too high or uncapped: in-game settings uncapped/144/120, hair flickers like crazy. When I cap it at 75, the flickering disappears completely. I went into the GameSettings file and set it to 80 (not possible in game), and now it's perfect.
